In the context of the continuous and rapid development of the fitness equipment industry, it is often difficult to achieve both capacity expansion and stable quality. Baopeng Fitness Technology Co., Ltd. is trying to solve this problem. The company’s new CPU production workshop in Rudong, Nantong, will be officially completed and put into operation in May this year. The workshop is designed according to a standardized production system, with a focus on increasing the production capacity of core products such as polyurethane (CPU) material dumbbells and weight plates. At the same time, Baopeng Fitness‘s unique “Weekly Quality Analysis Meeting” mechanism is converting the detailed feedback from the production line and the client side every week into specific parameters for product updates.
Capacity Enhancement: Construction of a New CPU Workshop with a Standardized Production Foundation
The newly completed CPU manufacturing workshop strictly adheres to dual requirements of environmental protection and quality control. It is equipped with a constant temperature and humidity injection molding environmental control system to ensure that polyurethane materials are formed under the best process conditions. The workshop is planned with a raw material pre-treatment area, injection molding area, vulcanization and cooling area, and online inspection area, forming a closed production line to reduce the risk of pollution during material transfer. After the workshop goes into operation, the monthly production capacity of Baopeng Fitness‘s CPU material products is expected to increase by 30%, effectively supporting the company’s growing ODM/OEM order demands.
Quality control mechanism: Weekly meetings drive issues to be resolved within the week
In Baopeng Fitness‘s production management system, the weekly quality analysis meeting in the workshop is a tradition. The meeting is chaired by the workshop director, and all the responsible persons from quality inspection, process, production, and equipment departments attend. The meeting agenda includes three fixed sections: First, review the sampling inspection data of finished products for the week, comparing the pass rate, failure rate, and main defect types item by item; second, analyze customer feedback information, including inspection opinions for export orders and usage experiences from brand customers; third, determine the key improvement points for the next week and form an executable task list with assigned responsibilities.
“We focus not only on whether the products are qualified or not, but also on whether the customers are satisfied or not,” said the production manager of Baopeng Fitness. He gave an example that a customer once reported that there was a slight color difference between the black rubber coating of a certain batch of dumbbells and those of other batches, which was hard to tell with the naked eye. However, Baopeng Fitness still listed this as a special improvement item, adjusted the raw material ratio and injection molding temperature, and set a stricter color difference control standard.
Attention to detail: Threefold refinement in color, weight, and feel
Based on the continuous feedback mechanism of the weekly meeting, Baopeng Fitness has achieved several specific results in product refinement. In terms of color control, the company has established a Pantone color card database, and samples are kept for each batch of products for comparison. If the color difference exceeds the internal standard, the production line will be stopped for adjustment. Regarding weight accuracy, the drilling tolerance of the ball head core is controlled within ±0.05mm, and the weight error of the finished product is stricter than the national standard. In terms of feel and grip, the depth error of the handle knurling does not exceed 0.05mm, ensuring consistent grip for products of the same specification.
Customer Satisfaction: From “Passive Response” to “Proactive Improvement”
Baopeng Fitness‘s quality control logic is shifting from “identifying problems and then solving them” to “anticipating problems and preventing them”. The analysis records from the weekly meetings are compiled into a book, serving as a case library for new employee training and providing data support for the continuous improvement of the process research and development department. It is understood that in 2025, Baopeng Fitness‘s customer complaint rate decreased by 20% compared to the previous year, the repurchase rate of ODM customers reached 70%, and several international brands rated Baopeng Fitness as the “Annual Stable Quality Supplier”.
The completion of the new CPU workshop has provided Baopeng Fitness with more abundant production capacity hardware. The continuous operation of the weekly quality analysis meeting has injected the software gene of striving for excellence into this manufacturing enterprise. Driven by both hardware and software, Baopeng Fitness is responding to the new expectations of global customers for “Made in China” with more stable quality and more consistent details.
