Source interception: Each batch of steel has an “identity card”
The quality inspection of Baopeng Fitness begins from the moment the raw materials are warehoused. Spectroscopy analyzers conduct component analysis on each batch of 45# steel and 40Cr alloy steel to ensure that the material grades are consistent with the reports provided by the suppliers. Any batches that do not meet the standards are immediately rejected and returned to the original source. In the past three years, Baopeng Fitness has cumulatively refused to accept 17 batches of non-compliant raw materials, thus eliminating quality risks caused by material issues at the source.
For rubber and polyurethane-based coating materials, Baopeng Fitness conducts stricter environmental screening. All raw materials must provide REACH compliance certificates. In 2025, due to the inability of suppliers to provide a complete traceability chain, Baopeng Fitness voluntarily terminated its cooperation with three material suppliers.
Process control: strict supervision over 16 steps
Entering the production workshop of , the quality board is constantly updated with the data of the pass rate of each production line. From iron core sawing, drilling, chamfering, to handle embossing, electroplating, salt spray testing, to assembly welding and rubber coating and vulcanization, there are quality inspection nodes set up for each critical process.
Take electroplating of the handle as an example. For each batch of products, a sample test of 72 hours of salt spray must be conducted. Only the batches with no rust on the surface can proceed to the assembly stage. The qualified indicators for the welding joint between the ball head and the handle are that there are no bubbles and no incomplete welding in the weld seam.
On the production line of the VANBO brand, the quality inspection standards are more stringent than those for OEM orders. The thickness tolerance of the rubber coating layer of the VANBO ARK series dumbbells is controlled within ±2%, and the depth of the embossed patterns on the handles is consistent to ensure a uniform grip feel.
Final product verification: The ultimate test on the drop test platform
Before each batch of finished dumbbells leaves the factory, they must undergo a “violent test” – free fall from a height of 1.5 meters onto the concrete floor, for a total of 100,000 times. Only products with no cracks in the rubber coating, no loosening at the welding points, and a weight error within ±0.5% can be labeled as qualified.
Baopeng Fitness’s quality inspection report shows that the overall one-time product qualification rate for the entire year of 2025 reached 98.7%, with a return rate of only 0.8%, which is much lower than the industry average of 2.1%. Behind these data lies the quality record of each product from raw materials to finished products, which is fully traceable.
